Wounds I Healed is made possible by three people. The book is edited by Gabriela Marie Milton, published by Ingrid Wilson, and illustrated by Nick Reeves. I attended a live Twitter session just recently where the editor, publisher, and cover artist all spoke alongside the contributors. The session was illuminating, emotion, and absolutely lovely.
This collection is from over 100 poets from around the world. It is an emotional narrative of hurt, hell, and healing. In the same vein as The Anthropocene Hymnal, which seeks to bring awareness to climate change in order to spark change, Wounds I Healed is about bringing awareness to the role women play in society and the wounds they heal.
Here is a brief official summary of the book!
Award-winning authors, Pushcart nominees, emerging poets, and the voices of women and men come to the fore in this stunning, powerful, and unique anthology. These poems testify both to the challenges that women face in our society, and to their power to overcome them. A memorable collection of over 200 poems by more than 100 authors, this anthology is a must-have for anyone. We all can benefit from the poetry of survival, and of healing. We all can benefit from the experiences so beautifully evoked in this book. We can all come together to emerge triumphant from pain.
Wounds I Healed Launch Party!
On June 18th, there is a launch party via Zoom, where contributors, including me, will be reading their poems. The Zoom meet is only for authors, but the event will be recorded so you will have a chance to hear poems from the anthology read by the poets themselves. This will be a fantastic introduction to the book, so please consider watching the launch party video on Youtube at your convenience. It will be posted online at this link, so make yourself comfortable at your place and time of choosing and experience the magic of this book through the spoken word!
